Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)

Job Description & Requirements
The candidates responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Advanced Blue Print reading skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of machining and fabrication tolerances
  • Knowledge of weld symbols.
  • Knowledge of Mig, Tig, Stick, Flux Core, Spray Arc, Aluminum, and Code Welding.
  • Have a working knowledge along with access to AWS D1.1, AASHTO/AWS D 1.5.
  • Enforce inspection procedures (if current procedure is not the best, then submit a better policy to management for review).
  • Enforce all quality rules and procedures.
  • Spot check individuals for them doing their own checks.
  • Welder certification testing – work with current CWI.
  • Maintain and update all documents and plans for AISC requirements using Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
  • Familiar with DOT requirements

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work well with a team of design draftsmen
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Level II MT Certification
  • 2 years active CWI experience
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening
